An ASO tool that tells you what to fix, and why

Link your App Store listing to a project and AppGrowthKit scores it across seven pillars, ranks the top fixes by the points they cost, and lets you rewrite the title, subtitle, and keyword field with keywords pulled from live App Store search.

How it works

  1. Link the listing

Paste an App Store link or search by name and pick a storefront. Not live yet? Audit a pre-launch draft of the title, subtitle, keyword field, and description instead.

  2. Read the audit

The listing gets a 0-100 score across metadata, description, visuals, ratings, freshness, reach, and monetization. Each check says what it found and why it matters, and the top six fixes are ordered by the points they cost.

  3. Fix it in the draft

Edit the name, subtitle, and 100-character keyword field with live counts. The draft flags repeats, wasted words, and words Apple already indexes from your name and subtitle, then re-scores as you type.

What you get

Metadata checks grounded in Apple’s guidance

Character limits, comma-separated keywords with no spaces after the commas, no keyword-field words repeated from your name, subtitle, or category, and no “#1” or discount terms in the name and subtitle. Every flag comes with the reasoning behind it.

Competitors from live search

Benchmark any keyword against the top 25 results from Apple’s search API in your storefront: rating counts for the top 10, how many carry the keyword in their name, and where your linked app lands.

Lives next to your screenshots

The ASO workspace belongs to the same project as your screenshot set and icon, so your keyword research is one click away when you write captions. Copy the full audit as Markdown for your notes or an AI assistant.

What the ASO audit scores, and what each pillar weighs

The listing score is a weighted average of seven pillars. Metadata weighs most because the name, subtitle, and keyword field are the text App Store search matches, along with your category. A pre-launch draft is scored on metadata and description only.

What the ASO audit scores, and what each pillar weighs
PillarWeightWhat it checks
Metadata30Name and subtitle length, words repeated between them, keyword field use, format, repeats, and wasted words, plus #1, discount, and emoji in the name and subtitle
Description15Length, the opening lines, structure, keyword coverage, release notes
Visuals15iPhone and iPad screenshot count. Icon and app preview get notes, not points
Ratings15Average, volume, and ratings on the current version
Freshness10Time since the last update and release cadence
Reach10Localizations, iPad support, file size, minimum iOS. Age rating gets a note
Monetization5Pricing model and in-app purchase names

Questions

It audits an App Store listing across seven weighted pillars: metadata (30), description (15), visuals (15), ratings (15), freshness (10), reach (10), and monetization (5). Checks include title and subtitle length, keyword overlap, the keyword field format, description hook and structure, screenshot coverage for iPhone and iPad, rating volume, and how recently the app was updated.

From Apple’s public iTunes Search and Lookup API, called from your browser. Requests are cached and paced to avoid Apple’s rate limit, and your drafts and tracked keywords are saved in your browser on this device.

Not yet. The ASO workspace covers App Store listings. Screenshot design and export in AppGrowthKit cover both the App Store and Google Play.

Yes. Without a live listing, the workspace audits your draft name, subtitle, keyword field, and description, so the metadata is ready on submission day.

No. Those platforms sell modelled download and search-volume estimates. AppGrowthKit is a practical audit and keyword workspace for indie developers, built on what the App Store shows publicly, inside the tool you already use for screenshots.
